If I wanted to install a starter kill switch, would I need a relay? If so I diagam would be nice...:)

find the starter wire. cut it.
 
and wire relay like so.
 
SPDT RElay.
 
87A - Not used.
87  -  starter side of starter wire.
30  -  Ignition side of starter wire
86  -  12V constant.
85  -  earth.  put the kill switch on this wire between. solid chassis ground and relay..
 
all done.   take you about 20 mins

Im trying ti understand, why, just for a kill switch do I need a relay? I dont have an alarm,and want to put a kill switch untill I get an alarm. Whu can`t I just cut the ignition wire,put switch in and be done?

also you will need a big switch to kill starter to switch a relay you can have a little small hidden switch..
