RE XXX 12 vs. Image Dynamics IDMAX12 v3

i've narrowed it down two these two choices. i can get the IDMAX12 for about $250 and the XXX for about $350. i've heard that the IDMAX is rated the "best" 12 inch subwoofer but i dont think any single subwoofer can be the "best". im looking for both SQ and SPL and i've heard that is what both of these subwoofers deliver. is there any reason why i should pay $100 more and go for the RE XXX 12?

I haven't heard either one in person. I have read a lot about them on this and other sites though. I'm going with 2 15" XXX's myself since i've read that the XXX is close enough to the MAX in SQ that most people can't tell the difference, but the XXX has more spl. That sealed the deal for me personally. It really depends on your application, both are outstanding subs.. im actually getting the New XXX 12 and putting it in a SS box tuned to 30hz

I heard the IDMAX ad its very nice, but Im wanting loud in my new setup since im no longer interested in and SQ what so ever

But thats just my take
