I have an UNGO MS2004 alarm and the only feature that I have never used is the horn honk function.  My question is, is there a special way to hook up a relay to do that, or is it the basic way.  The wire is a BROWN / WHITE wire and it is negative output.  Would I connect it like this?

86 = BROWN / White wire from brain

85 = Ground

87 = Constant 12v fused

30 = Out to horn wire.

Also does anyone know if I have to do the programming from inside the brain or with the remote for this alarm?  Such as setting Pulsed or constant.  Any help appretiated, thanks

Every vehicle horn circuit I've seen needs only a ground. Tie the BROWN / white directly into your horn wire.

Some horn wires require a relay because  it is a high current negative output. Acura's require a relay to boost the signal from the alarm/RS unit.

Jeff,

I have a 1995 Acura Integra with a Clifford 9000 installed on it.  Is it possible that you can send me instructions on adding both a hood/trunk pin?  I'm also interested in how to wire my horn to the Clifford 9000 as well.  If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Ernie

It's for my brothers 1990 dodge shadow.  The wire is blk/Red that I have to tap into.  So is that relay set-up the correct way?  I have to use a relay with this alarm.

hot_shot_guy, connect the negative horn output from the alarm directly to the horn lead in the steering column. No need for a relay. However, if you want to use a relay, connect the alarm output to 85, ground to 87, 12V+ to 86, and the vehicle (-) horn lead to 30. If you need to send 12V+ to the horn at the horn, connect the alarm output to 85, 12V+ to 86 and 87, and the vehicle (+) horn lead to 30.

So will I run into any problems if I just run the horn wire from the brain to the horn wire in the steering column?  Why in the manual does it say I need a relay then??

If you were to connect it to the positive horn lead as you described in your original post, you would definitely need a relay, but  if you were throwing 12V+ to the lead in the steering column, the horn will never sound. You need to supply ground to this lead which BTW is going to the coil of the horn relay :) If the output from your Ungo is extremely low and does not sound the horn when used without a relay, then you'll have to add one as I described above.
