i just bought a set of pioneers 5000spl's. what would be better for them a Hifonics or earthquake amps. i was also looking at the directed 2400d

Both are pretty good, but i would go with earthquake, although they may cost a little more.  Also the 2005 Hifonics amps are better then the 04 models (they put out closer to the advertised wattage).

DEI sucks....don't go with that....i have had good luck with hifonics

yes hifonics kick ass,  they have small distorion but for the power and price yes all the way. 
Hurry get me a steel hanger, elec tape, zip ties, a monkey and a snorgle. trust me i've ran wires with less

earthquake all the way, the hifoniks might be a little bit cheaper but you are getting what you pay for, i bought a brutus amp and 2 weeks later it is broke, go wtih the earthquake you are not going to be disipointed at all with it
