Best amp for Alpine Type R 12

just looking for some input on what ppl think is the best amp to run a type r 12. its a dual 4 ohm sub so it will be runnin at 2 ohms. thanks

how many watts does it kick out?

i was looking at it last nite it pops out about 2,200 rms @ 4 ohms it's a mono block i think...has remote bass controls too..decent amp..

Why would you put this amp to a woofer that has a max manufacturers rating of 500 watts RMS? Come on people think before you post.

Hi,
have these and running a fosgate 851s amp, its a 2004 with 850 wrms mono 4 ohms, or 425wrms x2 at 2 ohms. It sound nice. What type of box are you putting these in, sealed or ported and what volume. If you have the money get the new alpine 1000 rms, its a perk if u have the new 05 deck cause you can operate the amp from your deck..

He has ONE 500 watt RMS max sub! It has dual 4OHM voice coils. How could you recommend either amp?  Arrrrrrrggggghhhh......

haha chill out tcss, its always good to buy big, so when you upgrade you only need to ungrade the sub. i got the new alpine MRD-M1005 and dont worry tcss, im not gonna crank it up all the way. haha thanks for everyones input.

addition room to add another 12 type r...set the gains properly it'll be fine..i put 8,000 rms pounding watts to my my 5,000 rms sub...it didn't blow...

LOL Good luck with your system Tyler. It's been a long hot day here, I think we hit 100 degrees. Too many cars not enough time.Let me know if that sounds better then that Sony.
