I have a verry small box in my dodge qad cab (about .58 cu/ft) and i was curious if one of these set ups is better
1. Xtant 301a with 2- Image Dynamics IDQ12 D4 v.2
2. the same ID subs with this amp: Kenwood KAC 9102d
also when its all said and done will the amp have a 2 ohm load or a 4 ohm (when wired the best way)
thanks,
Griff

well you can get 2 ohm load with those subs 4 ohms or 1ohm . whats the best is  up to you. 1 ohm will give you more power . how ever 4 ohms will give you much better SQ . and i would take an Xtant. amp over a kenwood any day. i would suggest buying you amp from a local shop .or a online vender  Ebay would be one of the last places i would buy a amp. but the person selling the Ctant amp does good feedback 100%

Do you have .5 cu.ft in total, or per sub?   In your situation i would reccomend putting 1 quality 12" sub such as that image dynamics sub, and build the box exactly to the specs it requires, it will sound way better than any shoe horned dual set up, and that way you will at least be able to run the sub to its abilitys with that amp you got.  Trust me, the 1 12" will be louder than 2 cheaper ones.  I have been running single sub set ups for 2 years now, hit 143 db with a single alpine type-r, its all in the box.

Its .58 per sub, and i already made the box, i would of just made it for one if i had known that my original subs (RF punch 2's) wernt going to work. but i spent quite a bit of time on the box, i used the cargo wells as a mold and made it out of fiberglass with an MDF top, and covered it in vinal, so i feel obligated to make it work. those pioneers should be ok shouldent they?, they seemed to have good reviews. let me know if there is something i should know about them.
thanks a ton,
P
here is a pic of the box i am working with

Thats a very nice box you have there.  I haven't heard anything about the pioneers, do you have a pioneer dealer in town to listen to them?

those subs might be just right. but before you buy them . find a pioneer dealer, and listen to them with the same .RMS power you will be running. and the same airspace.also you sould line that box with polyfil.
