I was surfing around the internet yesterday at my shop, and I found a great resource for people who have any Directed Electronics product. The site http://www.drdetailshop.com/deiinstallguides.htm, has the Instruction manual for almost all of their products and is updated as new products come out. For any non-professional, this is good if you lost your manual or don't have one and do not know what your doing. For all of us pro's this is a good resource too especially if your like some of the guys at my shop and forget things within a few days. Have a good one everybody.

Yeah, whoever has done it just "borrowing" Directechs code from the dealers page and linking it to the DEI site.

It's actually been online for at least 3 years that i can remember so they must have permission or something. I'm sure if Directed knew and didn't want it there they would have made them remove it by now.

As it turns out, the manual I needed was already available on the forum's manual site, but it takes a bit more clickin' to locate due to the way things are set up there.
Now I can troubleshoot the hack wrap 'n tape installation job that some shop did with a 550ESP-
If a customer buys an alarm and brings it to your shop for installation, do you give them the owners manual, or both the installation and owners manual? I guess repeat business may come about by retaining the installation manual and details of installation, but then again, maybe it works the other way around too, when the customer mucks things up- Directed Electronics Manuals Here! -- posted image.

The one for the valet 712T is the same as what comes with it. So I don't see where that's any big secret. It's good to have an online link to it though in case one lost their manual.

Yes it is . . . But, unlike my other fellow installers, I have no problem with having more resources for others to view, and assist them in their end goals.
It all comes down to the users level of experience, and hands on ability to really understand what it is they are doing.
When in doubt, paying a pro will always be worth it, as well as the warranty provided.
In the end, its about sharing information and knowledge amoungst your pears.
Just remember, that when someone else needs a hand, to take the time to share your first hand experience(s) and be patient to those not in the know.
Noone, ever came into this world with knowledge, so always share what you know, in a professional tone, and manner.
