make sure you have the correct ignition wire.when you test it use a digital meter test the yellow wire of the alarm and make sure when you test it it should not have voltage on the wire.When you place your key in the key cylinder and move it to on it should show 12volts on the wire, then when you turn the car on the voltage should drop  a little. If it drops to zero then you have the wrong ignition wire. good luck.

I've put quite a few of alarms / remote starts / stereos / etc in and I've never heard of an ignition wire dropping a few volts.  It's always been 12 (or so) when on and 0 when off.  Unless this has something to do with the security chip in the key....does it?
