just installed a disigntec remote starter in my 2002 chevy envoy but it's not working.. i think the problem is caused by the factory alarm system because the remote start is sending power to the starter wire when activated.. but the starter doesnt crank over,, the wire diagram i have says the alarm disable wire is located inside the drivers door at module,, but i can't find any module inside drivers door.. can somebody please help me !!

it wouldn't be hte factory alarm doing that..i beleive the factory alarm in those cut off the fuel pump. sounds to me like you don't have the starter wire from the unit onthe right starter wire in the vehicle.  if i remember right it's the large yellow wire in the wire harness...when you go to remote start the vehicle does the heater come on or is it all dead?

Would that be in the CRANK Position? With the Key?

What ByPASS Unit are you using??

You actually need to bypass two seperate features in that vehicle.  The doorlocks are "multi-plexing", meaning they talk back and forth to several computers for lock/unlock features.  It is not the simple two wire +/- or reverse ground.  The Envoy also has a Passlock interface, or factory anti-theft system.  A good bypass like kgerry mentioned is the GMDL-BP, all in one bypass.  This one bypass will do both.  Very simple installation and fairly simple programming and you will be finished.  Good luck.  I get these from my dealer, should be able to get them off the net.  Here is a link to one site, never ordered from them before so cant verify anything.
