The Astra 1000RS sold by buy.com is apparently a stripper model without the manual transmission provisions.
Don't know if this is a concurrent model with the same model number or maybe old stock that buy.com is closing out, but it's not the same as described in the online installation manual.
This one seem to have an inputs for the parking brake and service brakes, doors, and hood pin to control autostart lockout, but it doesn't have one listed for the neutral gear switch. Possibly the one they show as the "Parking Brake Input (-)" is the same one normally used for the neutral switch, but the enclosed manual doesn't make any mention of any connection to the neutral switch.
Strange.

Nevermind, doesn't need any neutral sensing since it needs to be wired before the neutral interlock, so it'll be accounted for in the existing wiring-
Still strange that they appear to have two different versions with the same model designation-

quote mobile1: the owners manual is completely wrong however. it says for an automatic transmission vehicle to cut the loop on the front of the brain, and leave it intact for a manual. there is no loop. you have to open it up and solder wire on the brain for a manual vehicle. the programing is a little off also. If you want a basic remote starter without all the bells and whistles, not too bad.
Hmm- I'm wondering if this is the case with the one I received; where did you need to add the jumper on the unit to set it up for manual trans mode?
Maybe the units are the same, and it's just due to Sytek's tendency for mixed up documentation.

Well, i'm going to have to retract that statement. you cannot solder on the joint in the brain. first of all, it doesn't work and secondly you will blow your parking light  output. I have noticed now they come with a sticker on them saying automatioc trasmission only..
