It's got the relay block, valet switch, LED, antenna, 2 remotes, main control unit, and wiring harnesses. Some of these units are equipped with a 2 way remote replacing one of the 1-way remotes.

Thanks for the info. Looks like a lot of connections to be made. Thanks.

It depends...possibly the car won't start with the key, but you have to connect the remote starter's start wire on the side away from the switch anyway, so even if that relay fails you'll be able to use the remote starter.

Well, they work allright in Pennsylvania, and the only situation I can think of where cold would affect a remote starter's operation would be with immobilizer bypasses. Sometimes if you're using a bypass with the key inside, I've heard it could send a slightly distorted signal to the car in cold weather. Other than that, everything should be just peachy.

the 2 way remotes are crap.  We sold them for a year and every single 2 way remote has had to be sent in for warranty.  We have sent in SO MANY that quit carrying the brand.

Only problem was with the remotes.

Have you had problems with all the Scytek 2 way remotes? The one for the Astra 777 looks the same, if not identical.
Did you ever look into what the actual problem with the remote was, whether it was the button contacts, or circuitry itself?
Just wondering since I have the 777, and if it's sensitive to water damage or something like that, I'll have to try to avoid exposing it to moisture.

we've installed about 125 of these units this year so far. we have about a 10% failure rate which for the price of the unit, isn't that bad. the owners manual is completely wrong however. it says for an automatic transmission vehicle to cut the loop on the front of the brain, and leave it intact for a manual. there is no loop. you have to open it up and solder wire on the brain for a manual vehicle. the programing is a little off also. If you want a basic remote starter without all the bells and whistles, not too bad.
