I need to know how to hook up a new deck to a 98 s10. the factory stereo was ripped out along with the harness so i need the wiring diagram. The truck has the feature that the radio does not shut off until the door opens and i need help with this. Any help would be appreciated.

if the factory stereo turned off when the door was opened, then there probley is no 12v accessory behind there. So you would have to run your own. You could always us a meter to test the lines, battery to pop the speakers, or even take the speakers out and see what colors are there. Then pick up a factory harnes from a local auto shop or junkyard.
Thats my 2 cents.... take it for what its worth!

There is a 12V accessory behind the unit. It goes off when you open the doors as well. I have a 99 blazer, and when i shut her off it still plays music even with the subs until i open the doors. I believe the particular color for 12V accessory is yellow. NOT blue... ;-)
