i installed said inverter into my van. i used #0 wire to run my batteries in parallel on the positive side. i used #0 from inverter to trans, 2nd battery to trans, and 1st battery to motor for negative side. works awesome with 1000w loads but when i get over that the gen light comes on and the voltmeter goes in the tanker. would a larger alternator fix my issue? i normally wouldnt go over 1500w or so.
i am an electrician and i like to use the inverter for service changes. power off to the house, i can still run drills or the customers fridge.mostly i use it for charging    18v batteries.

It wouldn't hurt to get a higher amp alternator...that or a remote start that activates when it senses the voltage getting low.

Wht kind of 18v batteries are you charging? If its for a dewalt drill I know DeWalt makes a charger that plugs into your 12v cigarette lighter.
