Now, I personnally *despise* the common technique of leaving the rears on the deck, fading forward and bridging a 4-channel or just using a 2-channel or whatever for the front stage as a strategy for running your rear-stage. I think it is haphazard and extrodinarily lame.

Agree with that.  Amp the rears no matter how little respect you give them.  There are cheap amps available for cheap rear speakers....or better, four-channel amps that you can cheapen on the 3/4 end.

I just need some help before I go making my own decisions

Keep this in mind:  you won't be making your own decision...when it comes to speakers...until you listen to them.  Problem is, sometimes you have to listen to them (and thus make your decision) after you buy and install them.  If you have just nowhere to go to look...

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I can't remember this, but since I want to amp both front & rear 50wrms speakers, do I need to look for 100 x 4? or 50 x 2, on a 4-channel amp.

or would that be basically the same thing?

If you want to feed them all 50 watts, look for an amp that's 50w x 4 rms.

I heard a few things about that brand, but I don't know how "good" they are.

here is another one I'm interested in, but would like a second opinion, as well as the first link.

I know Fosgate is a good brand name, but never experienced their equipment.

Uhh.
Huh. No Hifonics isn't very competitive gear. Fosgate does okay.
I like the PG amp, of all those.
