I have a commando system 4040 install with the bypass 555h with no key required. How come when i remotely started the car, sometimes it started on the first try and sometimes second try or even third try. What i notice is that the green key icon in the instrument panel still flashing looks like it still looking for a key although the key has been learned to the system. Why this happen, is there a way to fix the problem ?

try a new 555h, or double check all of your connections with the 555h.
if you leave a key in the ignition will it remote start every time? if so, then you know for sure its a transponder interface problem.

That's your problem right there. Your bypass. Look into this part. Get this corrected and you will solve the issue at hand.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.2001 accord remote start - Last Post -- posted image.
