Can you connect two sets of wires to one speaker?

I have an '82 ZX with a voice warning system that I like.  If you bypass the factory wiring to the left front speaker, you lose the voice warning.

One solution to this would be to wire the factory wiring to a new small speaker somewhere else.

Another, the one I'm asking about, would be to wire both the aftermarket wires and the stock wires to the left front speaker.  But somehow I don't think this would work.  Will it?

Thanks!

I have done it before with out a problem but not in that car. However I would suggest using a separate speaker if possible.
