I broke the loop on a 556U any idea where I can get a new one, without having to by a whole new bypass? Or can i make one? Thanks

You can make one, it's a little tedious. Strip a piece of wire about 4 feet long and pull out two strands. Wrap them around an empty toilet paper roll and connect each end to the black ribbon cable. crush the paper roll and remove the coil, then lightly twist it to make it stay together.

I say just go buy a new 556u..... seems alot less work.

hi,

shouldn't the turns of wire be insulated (i.e. insulated instead of bare wire)? bosch type relay lying around? still use the toilet paper roll as a form, but add a turn of electrical tape inside out to hold the wire in place as you wrap around it. just my two cents

The looped wire on the 556U loop isn't needed. I cut that off on every Toyota i do just so the shroud fits better. You gotta be carfull not to knick a wire tho. I always make sure the loop is on plastic, so letting it touch chassis ground may make it not work.

Don't I need the loop on a chrysler 300c? I hear they are a real pain to get the loop to even site right.

Sorry, a typo!!!!! I meant the looped plastic around the coil isn't needed.... 556U loop -- posted image.

Well the whole coil broke off, it came off right before the loop starts, so can i just put the loop back together with the wire?

Eevn one small strand being broken will make it not work. If your that good to get it together and have zero breaks, your gold...
