If you have a bad ground or the ground inside the unit is failing, it will find ground through the siren causing what you are hearing. The faint tone.

It's a 2003 dodge ram 1500. I will check the ground in the evening and see.

I am still having this problem.  I still am unsure of the final verdict between having multiple grounds connected to same bolt or if I need to separate them to different screws.  People have said this could cause a feedback loop.  What is the best way to tie multiple grounds?

I have these connected to a good chasis bolt:

1) system ground

2)Lock relay ground

3)Unlock relay ground

4)Neutral safety wire

5)Dome light relay ground

Do I need to separate one of these wires from the group?  Could one of these be sending the voltage to my siren on remote start?

Have you had any luck with your siren yet?  Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?  Still looking for advice.  I think it has to be the brain now.

Now I just ran a wire from my negative battery cable and grounded the siren to that.  It still goes off when I remote start the vehicle.  It shows 2.46 volts so the siren isn't very loud but loud enough to hear.  Where is this 2.46 volts comming from now that I have grounded the siren to the battery?

I found the problem. I ran the ground cable from the brain to the negative battery post and it quit doing it. I couldn't find a good ground under the dash board. If it qiuts doing it just run the cable into the engine bay and find a bolt that's screwed into the body and that should be it. Good luck and let me know if it works.

So I have been having this feedback problem with my siren in another post and now tried switching the ground to a wire from negative battery post.

1. However my two way remote only locks the car, will not unlock, or start the vehicle.

2. I have a one way remote also that will lock and unlock, but will not start the vehicle

3. The vehicle still starts with key as always

4.  All fuses look good on the wries of the system

5. This is a 2000 dodge Durango and the system is Alert 750R

This system has been working great except the siren was getting 2.46 votls when running on remote start.  All I did was change the ground.  What could cause this???
