Can someone tell me what wire to use on a viper 791xv to hook to a trunk pin switch to activate the trunk icon on my transmitter.

Can anyone tell me what the zones are on a 791xv viper as far as led flashes. I have both the owners guide and the installation guide and they have two very different table of zones. (example:  Owners guide says zone 1 = instant trigger - hood pin.    Install guide says zone 1 = multiplexed input - blue(H1/6). Can anyone tell me which table is right or give me a list of the right zones           ps. (zones = the number of times the led will flash when activated.)
