This right now is a work in progress I will update it as it comes along.

The start of the dash insert. I'm putting in a 7inch X File audio screen in the dash of a 1994 firebird along with molding in the Pioneer trim ring. The air controls will be moved to the clove box.

The screen trim piece is glued in along with the pioneer trim.

After some Kitty hair and some sanding I sprayed some primmer to see for imperfections.

After sanding off the primmer I put some bondo on the imperfections and did some more sanding.

Primmed and ready for paint, I sent off the piece to paint and will post soon how it looks in the car.

Update. I had the car, so I did a test fit and made all of the brackets need to remount the radio and move the Ac controls. Not very easy to do.

The screen in the dash piece.

I made a template of the glove box for the AC controls.

To move the Air Controls to the glove box to minor work all I had to do was to extend the main harness a foot.

The new AC control bracket.

Everything fits. It will look really good when it gets some paint.

Powers on. Signal will come from a PS2.

It will soon be painted check back in about a week to see the painted piece.

Thanks. This not my car though it belongs to a friend of mine he gave me the car for a few weeks to install his system. There will be many more pictures of this car to come. It will be getting a full glass install from the rear seats back.

Thanks. This is not my car though, it belongs to a friend on mine. He gave me the car for a few weeks to install a killer show system. There will be many more pics of this car showing the install of a major fiberglass setup from the rear seats back.

Memphis9,

Very nice..How did you set up the bracket for the radio..is it attached to the

faceplate, if it is how is holding up with the weight of the radio? any bouncing,

vibration?

I too am doing something similar, well, partly similar.  I'm actually putting a 15in screen in the dash.  Alittle more work than a 7, but well worth it! 7 inch screen in dash of a firebird -- posted image.

hey everyone, my name is kyle i am the owner of this firebird. I actually made the bracket for the radio. I took a piece of aluminum and made it mount up where the heating controls used to be screwed in. I had to bend the tabs that got screwed into place so the radio would be flush with the trim piece. As for the bouncing, the center counsle seems to hold it up quite well. As soon as i get my camera back i will load up some pics of the bracket.
