Get the Hifonics TX1505D for $180 from ikesound, its 1000wrms at 2 ohm which would work perfect for those 2 SWR-1222D's.  In the future if you want to get even louder  and change up subs, you have the 1 ohm option on the amp which is 1500wrms.

Or the BX1605D $215, Or BX1505D  $189, or BX1205D $184

Other than the BX1605D, the other three fit perfectly in my price range. So what is the difference between them? TX and BX1505D? 9 dollar difference same watts, what makes the BX worth 9 more dollars lol.And the BX1205 is 4 dollars more for less watts than the TX1505D. So which shouldi go with? the BX1505 for 190?

From the Hifonics web site it looks like the TX series is the cheaper series and the BX series is the higer quality series of the bunch i say throw your money down on the BX1505D unless someone has something to say about the quality of such amplifier.

I would have to agree with Alpine Guy. I've owned a couple of Type R's and absolutely loved them. As for Orion, I've always thought of them as a pretty high quality company. I own one of their 4 channel amps and have never had any complaints about it (other than the max 5v input). But that amp you were looking at was a 2 channel amp. So if you bridged it for the 800 x 1 RMS, it's only stable down to 4-ohms.
And for the HiFonics, I haven't actually used them, but from what I've heard on this forum, people seem to consider them to be a good choice for a budget amp with lots of power.
I say give the HiFonics/Alpine setup a try. And remember to make sure to put whatever subs you end up with in the propper size enclosure.

that amp will only do about 500wrms at 4 ohms. about 800 @ 2 ohms. I have a boss 3000d and it only puts out 1200 @ 2 ohms.no where close to the 1500 it claims. it's not that bad of a amp but, the power is overrated.

I have a Hifonics 2200D. I'd recommend their amps pretty high for what they cost. I've had several Orion amps, but that was before they were bought out by Directed Electronics. I hear they are still good though.

I can't voice opinion on the amps, but I had a pair of Audiobahn 6X9s, the specs read incredible, the build quality was amazing, cast baskets, huge magnets, titanium diaphram tweeters, butel roll edge blah blah $500 New Zealand.
..........sounded utterly awful!
They now reside in a wardrobe. I played around with them, added extra tweeters, tried biamping them. They were just downright unmusical.
Got burnt and learnt.
