got a customer brought his car 2004 grand prix in has a viper 160 with 556 key in the box

keysense is wired up

wasn't installed by me
now one of the keys he used as well as the key in the box no longer work
took it to the dealer they were stumped
they reset the computer
couldn't reprogram either key
he has one key that still works
phoned dei tech support they said they had never seen it
dealer tells him he need to replace all the wiring harness that the remote was wired into
took the two keys to a locksmith and put them in there transponder detector
it indicated that both keys had a transponder
i told the customer seeing that he still has a key that works it either is the computer
or the keys

I remember someone telling me that once the newer keys were programmed in once they either can not be used in that car again or at all. I think they were copying what dodge was doing with thier transponder keys.

Why it locked those 2 out is alittle strange. When it locked it out what was he doing? Starting it with key only? Remote starting it while he was right there with the other key what?

i know dodge keys are married to the vehicle when you program them

as in what he was doing when the vehicle quit recognising them

i don't know and neither does he

My 04 grand prix is returning. no security light but It won't remote start every time apparently something with bypass. I did the telephone wire wrap yesterday. I will switch the red back to  constant, i guess. just to update. I guess I should be happy the security light is not coming on. I will update next week with changes made to this grand prix.  Anybody have any ideas how to get hair to comeback as this one has balded me a little.....

Thanxs for all the help on this, it is greatly appreciated..
