I did this months ago. I added bezzels and LEDs to my Hvac area  plastic, to represent when a switch is on. I have 5 switches and 5 bezzels, 5 Leds placed there. When switch is in on position the coresponding LED  will light up ( tied in with that power source) signifying that the switch is active. I merely drilled proper size holes, added the nice chrome bezzels,  make sure theres resistors to equal the current. and voila.  Light up switches LED style.

I did something similiar to this many years ago, but took it a step further- I used dpst switches and when 'off' the output turned on the green portion of a bicolor led. When on it turned on the red portion

Actually got the dash off so I could post some 2morrow I borrow my buddies camera. (had one but tradeed lap top and sureshot for a motorbike) Switches with LED's - Last Post -- posted image.
