also for this:

Anyone have a 100% proven knowledge what sensor or sensors are monitored

I think someone else said the speed sensor and gyros are monitored

The next time I take my N1 apart, I am gonna take pictures of every part, heck I will SCAN them on my scanner.  Then anyone with a N2 (perhaps a fried one)  take that sucker apart and do the same so we can compare the arcitecture and perhaps we can find that elusive R197 or a derivative of the sorts.

I called pioneer and argued with them that after my n2 upgrade, i was unable to listen to dvd audio...he also suggested to me to upgrade to the n3 software, which i thought you couldn't

Wow that was quick!  your radamadidio must be easy to remove.  Geez, it would take a half hour to get to mine.

Well take some hi-res pics of the mainboard, front and back.  If you got a scanner, please scan both sides.

What I would be looking for is if I can get a hires scan of a N2 board, it is going to be somewhat different than our N1 boards, but if I can see where the R197 traces originate from on the N2, we could theoretically find the pins of the same chip on the N1 board and put a jumper in for the N1.  Catch my drift?

Yep, I got ya. I can get my head unit out in about 10 mins or less. Pretty easy. Also it ended up being easy to take apart. At first I thought it looked tough but I can get it apart in about 5 or 10 mins. I have one problem.   I have a 4.2mp camera but I cant get it to focus in on the small writing on the board. I need some pics of a n2 board so I can just compare them and try and trace it.

I just noticed you said use a scanner. I will have to try that next.   I just put the unit back together and in my car so I have it for the day. But when we need pics I can take it out quick no problem...

Most digital cameras have a closeup mode.  It is usualy depicted on the camera as a icon of a flower and is called "Macro" mode.  I'd prefer scanners as I have had good luck scanning the artwork of many boards that way.  Thanks for all the help.
