I have a 2001 ford explorer sport track, I used the 451 m to operate the door lock which works good.. but the door lock buttons in the vehicle stay on... so I disconnected the 451m and went back to stock until I figure this out...

so the alarm is a sidewinder 5000, I used the violet wire for the door trigger and ran it to the positive BLACK/ BLUE wire for the dome light..

can anyone help me solve this?

thanks sahwn

When you mean " .. but the door lock buttons in the vehicle stay on... " does that mean that the light is on or does that mean that the actuator stays locked and you can't unlock it because it is still on ?

I mean the door lock lights inside the vehiclke stay on... the doors un lock and lock great...  it seems the light may be connected to the door trigger or something and the alarm is sending power to the door lock button lights?  sorry for the confusion...

when I open the door the domelight comes on and the power door lock button lights come on... then when you shut the door it turns off 5 minutes after the door shuts...

my problem with the alarm is when using the 451 the door lock lights from the button are on all the time...

hope I explained it better?  If you need more info please tell me and ill try to explain better..

thanks

How long after does the light stay on ? Have you actually timed it ? The reason why I ask is because the Ford uses a GEM module that retains power in the circuit upto 45 minutes and then cuts the power off to save battery and then you need to wake up the GEM after the fact. Can you please email me ( techsupport@velocitymotorsport.com ) the wiring diagram that you have for the 451M module so I can see what connections go to where on the unit ? Thanks and hope i can help you out.
