how good are sony xplodes...

a friend of mine has a pair of 12's in his car and it hits pretty good, hes got a 2x200 sony xplode amp

I'm not a big fan of 'em.  They're cheap, and they can't produce what sony says they can.

But if cheap is what your after, go for it.

Cheap and its sony. We blow them up everytime we get them from customers changing out htere system.

Sony's subwoofers might not be good...never had any experience with them. I can tell you that for component speakers they are great! You can't find better sounding speakers for the price. Not everything expensive is great...although the real good stuff usually tends to be!!

It depends what your looking for out of your subs.  My cousin has a pair of 12 inch Sonys and he loves them.  They do what he wants.  I personally don't like them.  Listen to them and draw your own conclusions.

There a good starter brand, or beater sub. But definately not a brand you will look for when you want a good quality sound with a hard impact.  I "rent" them from walmart now and then just to smoke em and return them, kinda fun.  xplode -- posted image.

Nice Alpine guy.I have a pair of sonys on a old kenwood amp hit pretty good back when i was 13.But don't try to show any one up.What kind of car is this going to be in.

big car but if i were you install them in a ported box in that kind of a vechile. So it gets Louder.
