You need to try a different amount of valet button presses if it's not disarming. After you turn the ignition on you may need to press the valet 1-5 times. If you try all those and still have to luck then you need to unplug the switch and test it for continuity to insure that it is working properly. You aren't going to be able to program anything if the switch doesn't work.

Another question. When I get ready to do this, do I want my door or hood open or shut? I guess I would have to get in the car with everything shut, then plug the alarm back in? Then try to program the remote?

Well, I got the remote today finally, and I am having some difficulties with it. Somehow I got it to work with the one button configuration, meaning the lock button did both lock/unlock. I want the other configuration which would be channel 2. I've hit the valet button twice and held it, it blinks twice, then I hit the lock button on the remote. The alarm blinks twice three times in a row. Then I release the valet button and remove the key. But the remote wont work correctly. What to do?

Actually, anyone know how to program the transmitter to make it vibrate and such? Its different from the older model I believe since it has the P button on the back.

It will still work just like the old way by holding all 4 buttons down until u hear the beep. Or you can use the P button.
