I can't remember but for some reason i remember reading that there were problems with Dodge and Chrysler Factory imoboliser units. Anyways I'm having a problem with the key for a 05 durango. If you push the key in all the way you can hear a relay clicking. And the car won't start with the key every time.

Installed the avital 4000 for just remote start and used the directed 556u box. Everything works ok with the remote start. Its just with using the key.

I've had problems with Dodge vehicles that did this and to test it out, when the vehicle doesn't start with the key, unplug the 556U completely fromt he vehicle and try to start it again after you unplug it. If it starts, then it's the 556U inducing the signal to the Sentry system. I had this happen on a Jeep Liberty and a PT Cruiser last month. Post your results and I'll post what I did if this is in fact what is happening to your installation.

Thats what i would think the car sees 2 keys at the same time. If you use a relay to activate the BP it helped in my case I think that would work for you.

Have had this problem with the 556u in the past.  What I've done is hook both the black, and the blue wires from the 556u to the status ouput of the r/s.  Has worked everytime.

Try adjusting the antenna on the 556UW. I had an 03 Stratus and a Montero act up on me. They would remote start, but not with the key. Try to move the antenna away from the cylinder and then test with the key and the R/S. Get some duct tape or dum gum and make sure it doesn't move. Worked for me so far.

What I did was hook up a diode in the wire that goes to the keysense wire and solved both problems.
