I have customer with a 1986 military issued humvee with the 24v system.  Does anybody have any ideas on how to get a 12v switched ignition out of this?

A reducer and 24v relays don,t go from one battery as when charging you'll spike the alarm with 18-19v

not only that....when drawing from 1 batt. the vehicle will not see the draw from that batt and increase the charging on the system....this will result in a dead batt situation.  i found this to be in every case a radio was mis wire in any costuction equipment.

You can pick up a 7812 from Radio shack if your output needed is less then 1A.

Or you pick up a 7812 to run the trigger for a 30amp relay!  Haven't worked on any 24V systems yet.  Looks like it'll be fun.
