I'm looking to buy some decent wire strippers/cutters that will do large power wire, such as 4 gauge. I had these really cool ones that were shaped kind of like channel locks, and when you squeezed the handles it stripped the wire...I broke 'em on 8 AWG wire, though :(

I just use regular wire strippers- something like this: http://www.smarthome.com/images/89038big.jpg.  Just put the stripping teeth around the wire, gently squeeze, and twist.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Strippers will work harder for you the more you tip them.

But, to strip 4 AWG wire, I use a safety razor blade.

those 'automatic' strippers work really well if you get one that is made solidly. It works for up to 10ga. I believe.
