I'm planning out how to install kick panels in my 1967 beetle for 5 1/4 polk component speakers. I am wondering how the kick panel should be attached to the side of the car body. Are they usually screwed into the sheet metal? Also, if anyone has pictures of a similar instal in a beetle, it would be hugely helpful.
Thanks

is there factory panels there or no?

if so make a mold of the factory panel and use the factory mounting points...with mine i put a screw right through the back side into the sheet metal usually.then install the speaker, hiding the screw...use self taper and silicone if you are concerned about the tiny bit of air loss that may occur from the screw hole.
