I installed my Avic-z1 and cant get that damn dvd disable feature to turn off.  Avic-z1 motion bypass disable? Anyone? -- posted image.I tried grounding the parking brake and removing the motion speed circuit wire but it still shuts the screen down when the satellite antenna senses the vehicles movement.  It would be nice to have a dvd system for the passengers.  Can't seem to get it to bypass.  If anyone knows, please help a brother out.  Any help at all.  Thanks.
I've checked around this forum and can't find the bypass information for the Z1.  I did, however, find someone selling a kit on ebay but don't feel like spending 40$.  Rip off!

Please don't lecture me on the legality or safety of this.

There is no bypass yet.  If you are really just concerned about passengers, why not install an overhead monitor for them to watch and feed the video out of the Z1 to the overhead.  It won't disable that video

Thanks for the response.  As for the passengers, I shouldn't have to buy more crap, this thing has a dvd player in it already.  I would like to have it work while I'm driving.

And I'd like to drive down the road knowing that I won't get hit by a driver looking at the screen. Expect this thread to be locked relatively quickly because the forum will not support the transfer of illegal information such as video in view of the driver while the vehicle is operating. Read the forum rules.
Good Luck!

You have issues.  I guess you have personal experience dealing with people driving while watching movies.  If your not gonna help then don't respond.  I said I didn't want to see replys from people that are gonna lecture me on safety.  Oh, apparently you don't look down at your navigation screen at all while your driving huh, or the radio for that matter.

Ok, if not video in motion, then how about the simple fact of inputting an address while driving.

Every stock nav unit can do it.  How about an aftermarket one.  That is what I am looking for.

Who wants to pull over everytime I need to input an address or look for a POI.

The Z1 does that all by voice, why would you pull over?

It is illegal to bypass the safety features in any DVD player if the screen is visible by the driver.  Period.
