vented enclosure specs

There's a reason Alpine doesn't give recommended vented enclosure specs for that sub.... It's made to be used in a sealed box. I used one in a 1.5 ft^3 sealed box and was pleased with the results.

i personally agree with boardinbum. although you can make a vented box for just about everyspeaker. you would definately need to be careful with alpines. and if you must go vented, please use a subsonic filter!! they are great if you would (i know it sounds old school) make the box slightly larger than asked for or put some good ol' polyfil in the box for deeper bass. but alpines tend to clip easily especially in a vented box once you crank 'em. they are a great speaker on lower powered amps (esp type e) but will buckle under pressure.

i have 2 new type r's in a 1.4 cu ft each ports tuned @ 40hz and inside lined with dynamat and a clif cd10.1lx amp all wired @ 1 ohm and the subsonice set about 23hz and they are the hardest cleanest 12's ive ever heard in a ported box and there's no port noise in the front of the car93 diamante
