I installed  a 555L and it will only work if the car is warm.  If it is cold no go?

What kind of car is it? Is it carburated or fuel injected?

You are talking about the immobilizer defeat correct?  Or are you talking about the Remote Start? If you are talking about the immobilizer defeat then you should check your ground ( it should be hooked to the sensors ground not grounded to the chassis).

I would say its a ground. I wouldn't ground it to an output of the remote start, it needs to see the same ground the BCM sees. You can ethier run it to a good ground or hook it up to one of the three wires in the passlock harness - I think its yellow, BLACK/ orange and black. You can use the black, but look in the manual for it to be sure.

My power source for the 555 is constant so if I grounded without the remote starter - output would it damage the 555 to be constantly powered? Or do I add a relay?

theres two wires on the 555l, passlock ground and and a blue black wire - the blue black wire should go to the ground when running of the remote start, the other ethier to the good ground or the passlock wiring. Its relay based, when it senses volatge on the pink ing input wire and a ground on the blue black it will send out the code.

That is how I have it connected, blue black to - starter output and black to the passlock ground output.  I know resistance changes with temp.  Would a bad connection also make this happen?

It would. I just did a 03 Tahoe and The connections were off just by a little, and it started screwing it up. I'd say sodder your wires and make sure your ground is tight and secure. do you have your red wire going to 12volts constant? Other that i dont know.... I've done so many of these i can do ti behind my back.
