keyless entry acting up after Z1

Car: 2004 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Problem: After installing my AVIC-z1, my keyless entry remote won't work for a short while after turning off my car. the remote's transmitting light comes on and when I come back to the car 15 minutes later it works fine. But for at least a few minutes after I turn off the car, the remote is useless -- it will not lock or unlock the doors. WTF?

just curious does it do it with both remotes? possibly a dead battery on the remote.There are 10 types of people in the world, ones that understand binary and ones that dont.

Well, since the remote's transmitting light comes on, and always works the rest of the time, and this is happening right after my Z1 install, I figured it has something specifically to do with the z1. But that's a fair test to rule out the transmitter. In the mean time, any other ideas?
