Thanks for the feedback. I finally read the PDF for this 407M sensor at the DEI site. This tilt sensor is simply mounted with double-sided tape, at anywhere between a 0 and 45 degree angle with respect to the car's horizontal floor plane.
The one drawback I did spot in the 407M's PDF, however: a 10 second delay on trigger. yet I'm seriously thinking of still using it on the trunk lid, however. I think with all the usual zone-one sensors, plus the shock sensor, plus the prox detector, plus this 407M motion/tilt sensor... that's a fair amount of protection. I was just surprised to read about the 10 second trigger delay.
