Look at the specs of your subs;  at the actual voice coil configuration.  These would probably be one of three different configurations:  Single voice coil (SVC) 4 ohm, dual voice coil (DVC) 4 ohm, or DVC 2 ohm.  When you have found what these are, look at the woofer wiring wizard in the left column help section under Car Audio.  Generally, if it is possible, a final 2 ohm load is chosen for use with a sub mono amp.  Do not use a 1 ohm load, but you can use a 4 ohm load.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Wow.  You Aussies can do a lot in 3 minutes, eh?  how to set up subs with amp - Last Post -- posted image.

So, don't leave us in suspense.  What configuration of coils do these subs have?  What wiring diagram is used?  Is it verified by a second look?

edit:  right click the diagram you used and copy it to this reply box.

Sounds like you have the ohm load too low. Post the specs of the subs and amp.
