I need to know what size speakers are in a 2002 sonoma zr2. I know the dash speakers are 4x6, but will 5 1/4" fit?I dont know the size of the door speakers.

You can make them fit.

5 1/4 wont fit in the dash, not without MAJOR custom work. As for the doors, they are 6 1/2 but you can make plates to hold 5 1/4 if you so desire.

Keep the speakers in the dash to either a 4" plate speaker, or a 4" component as part of a 3way set. The door speakers with the help of a adaptor plate will fit a 6.75" speaker.

Use the adapter plates in the doors and either 4x6 plate speakers in the dash or 4" speakers. I just did this on my wifes zr2, I did componets in the doors after sound deadening installed new set-up, sounds many times better.

if you make a plate make it out of something that will not worp. if you use wood or masinite or something the outside temp will worp the wood. you can use plexi or something that does not change as easy to wether or get abs plastic plates premade. online or from local store.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
