I need a little help wiring the rest of my DVA-5205, I figure three of these wires are for ground, power and turn on lead, but I don't know for sure. I also don't know the order of these wires. Here is a picture, any help would be appreciated!

Try downloading the owner's manual from Alpine.

Yeah, I tried that. There was nothing in those manuals about which wires should be connected to what. Any other ideas?

The DVA-5205 is only a slave unit that is controlled via the Ai-Net connector. The 4 pin connector is the power connector and I'm not sure if you still have the fuses on the wires, but the two fused connections are the switched & constant & one is ground and one is the remote turn on.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I have a CD changer hooked up to the CVA-1003 with the Ai-Net cable; do I need another Ai-Net cable for the DVD player in addition to the RCA's? Also, since my 4-pin connector is not color coded, could I just try each of the wires or is there a high chance of blowing the unit? Sorry for all the questions, but I have a car show coming up and I really want to get the stereo in. :)

hi,

the connector you have, though physically plugs into the unit, is not the correct one.

the connector that came with the unit had red and yellow wires, for battery and accessory power, each eith fuse holders and filter chokes.  in addition there was a black lead for ground and a WHITE/ brown for remote control signals.

you will need an additional ai-net cable to allow your head unit to contol the player.  you also may need the remote control for the player to properly configure the player.

the 5205 can be used as a stand alone piece.  there is a jack on the rear of the unit for connection of an optional remote eye.

hope this helps
