I have installed 2 power acustic apms pushing 2 Kicker CVR subs.  They are 2ohms stable.  I also have a 2 Fared cap installed, and a Optima battery. The deck im using is a Pioneer deck.   The problem i am having is that the amps cut off when i turn the sound level up to about 35, and the deck goes much higher.  Every thing sounds great till the amps cut off, and when i turn the sound down they come back on and everything sounds great again.  To you install gods, whats my problem??

Are they mono amps? sound like maybe they are 2 ch amps bridged to mono. The chances are they are not 2 ohm stable in that mono mode. Do you have the gains turned up all the way? That may be your trouble too. With out more info from you on what the amps are, what ohm load are your subs, how you have them wired......etc. It's hard to say whats wrong for sure.

Either the gain is too high, the impedance load is too low, or the system voltage is dropping too low, or all three.  Please list the exact model numbers of the amps and the subs and how you have them connected to the amp.  Use the forum search function for instructions on setting gains if you do not know the proper methods.  And if you system voltage is dropping too low, the only fix is a high-output alternator (and if system voltage is going low ditch the caps until you do get a HO alt.)

The 2 amps are power Acoustik Gothic series OV2-820. The subs are Kicker CVR-10 2 ohm 600 watt dual voice coil subs, and i have them wired Parralell.  I have the gain set to a little less than half way.  They way it is wired now is I have one sub wired to each amp in mono mode with the negative speaker wire for each going to LCH and the positive speaker wire for each going to RCH.

I have checked the system voltage and its fine.   I believe that i have an Imedance problem, but im not sure how to fix it

Thanks

power accoustic is not a good brand for one they are owned by the same company that owns spl-kole -soundstream and other junk. what i mean is they just buy sh-t from china and slap a tag on it. the problem you are having could be cheaper amps may say two ohm mono but when you drive the woofers the impedence changes and may go to low for the amp or the amp might go into protect at say 11 volts or under so you may want to see how low the voltage is going at the vol. it cuts off. also try changing you ground location

Well heres something I did find out. The amps are 4ohms in mono mode.  Im really not wanting to buy new stuff if I can get away with it.  Ill keep searching, but if any of you guys can help me out, I'd really appreciate it!

i think power akoustic is the new audiobahn... which is good for the big dogs making tons of money on kids buying their gear. but just keep in mind you get what you pay for.

I don't want to debate quality.  So far as I know at this point, the amps are doing thier job.  I have had the equipment checked out, and the amps are actually a bit under rated.  I still believe that I have an Imedance problem, but am not sure how to proceed.
Thanks

Well if its a impedence problem wire your subs in series. Look at this link for wiring configurations on 2ohm dvc subs https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp

You did say you have the subs wired parallel and they ARE dual 2 ohms you said...so basically you have the amp wired at a too low of an impedance of 1 ohm.
Anyonen else not see this earlier?
