Does anyone know off hand what door lock setup the 1989 Corvette Conv. has?  I am going to install an alarm on this car and would like to prewire my relays for the door lock system before getting started.  Also does anyone have any tips for installing an alarm on this car?  Basically is there anything out of the ordinary?  Thank you to all in advance for your responses..

Harvey

sorry guys but I am a Newbee, I have installed a couple of alarms before but this is a totally diffrent animal.  The first post I got said positive door trigger locks and the second said 5 wire reversal.  Being a newbee I am looking at the diagrams and see a 1989 Corvette, alarm/keyless entry -- posted image. 5 Wire Alternating 12 Volts Positive Door Locks and a 5 wire reverse polarity/acuators.  To me it sounds like the first reply was telling me to go with the 5 wire alternating positive door locks and the second was telling me to go with the 5 wire reverse polarity?  Sorry if this is a stupid question and if I beat this subject into the ground.   Thanks

I suppose I'm wrong, it is infact 5 wire reversal mastered from the passenger switch.

When installing an aftermarket keyless entry alarm on a 1989 corvette equipped with Vats, do you have to disable the vats system?  If you have to does anyone have a diagram of how to do this or can someone help by telling me what needs to be done?

Thanks Harvey

If you are just Installing a KEYLESS Entry, you DO NOT have to disable the VATS.

You are just wanting to LOCK & UNLOCK??
