Letting friend off on highway

She just says "Oh, my bus is just a block away, I can reach home a lot quicker if I take the bus; is it ok to get off here?" meanwhile unlocking the door and opening it already ajar, leaving me not much of a choice. Even though I did not mention being uncomfortable leaving a girl on the highway, I figured such a feeling was implicit. In any case, I refused the favour, saving all kinds of troubles (and feelings). I have found a polite way to say no without hurting anyone's feelings.
