Hey guys...
Was wondering...how do i wire 2 10" PA speakers which are 8ohms each, and a (1) 12inch sub that is 4ohm? All connecting to the same amp.. The amp im  thinking of getting is  a 2/3/4 amp. Should i get a 4 channel? 2 channel? and how should i wire it?
I guess that guy has subs.

I recommend you don't use a combination like this.

I recommend two different vehicles.  Use the 10's or the 12, but not both together.  Besides the fact that you will create SPL imbalances and probable cancellations, using speakers with mixed impedance loads will also mean they will not utilize the same power (the 4-ohm speaker will always use twice the power as the 8-ohm speakers.  I say it is a bad plan.

What are and who makes PA Speakers ?? Are you referring to a 10" subwoofer or are they full range speakers ? Just curious because you referred to the 10" as speakers and the 12" as a subwoofer .

Uh, OK, being accurate to start with is a good idea.  "Speaker" means every speaker, by the way, that's what they all are called.  Why do you think you want to use Selinium 10" pro sound woofers in your car?  I can't recommend using those in a car.  You do realize they require 1.25-1.5 cuft enclosures, and if they are for mid-bass they should be in the front of the vehicle in stereo?  Where do you plan to mount them?

Use your 12" subwoofer and if you think you need a three-way main set, then get a 3-way main set.  Drive your subwoofer with a subwoofer amplifier.

I want them so when i lift up my hatchback ( i have a 92 jeep cherokee) i can hear it. Its mostly for tailgating events..Street team events and more for outside listening then inside listening. The whole idea of this whole project is to get ppl who are at about 20-25 feet away from my car to hear it. I'm basically just looking for about 400-500watts of music. I was looking around and i see some 6x9's that are rated at 150rms. If i cant get 2-3 of those, wouldnt that be just as good as getting a "pro speaker"?

I guess that guy has subs.

OK now I understand.  Again, please be clear up front if you want good responses!  :)  Sure the Seliniums would be great for a party PA setup.  That's what they're for.  Build a couple of cabinets in the 1.5 cuft range, add a horn tweeter and 2-way crossover, and set up a full-range stereo amp dedicated to them that you can switch on when you need it.  I sure wouldn't want to have to carry them around all the time (talk about gas mileage dropping for nothing!) but to load up for parties it'd be a good idea.

If you really want to build them yourself, go for it.  If you want to buy something premade (and you don't want to spend a ton of money) I suggest a set of something like this.
