Most people have not heard what a truely powerfull sub sounds like with very low distortion that drops to 16hz and below.
Would two transmission line 18's, with an Fs of 12, and crossed in at 50Hz @ 48dB, driven by an Adcom GFA-556 @ 350 wpc count? If so, then I am glad to know I am not one of those lackey 90%ers. eclipse cd players - Page 2 -- posted image.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

That sounds like it should get the job done the only sub that I have heard that dose that VERY well is the SVS PB12-Plus/2 and Finding Nemo with here tapping on the fish tank WOW!!!  Not sure if you have heard Soundhounds pipe organ CD there is some music that will really test a sub out. Now he is a guy that really knows his stuff and a really nice guy from talking with him one of the forms I am.
