5v vs. 8v pre out, big diff?

ok i got an eclipse 5444 5v deck and a new 5000 8v deck...will it make a big difference from 5 to 8v preout? what would it actually change? i know the more volts the better but why? oh yah, i am running 2 jl 1000/1's, 1 450/4, 2 13.5 w7s. Thanks!

Not a noticeable difference. However, the 8000 will have better, cleaner outputs, so stick with that deck.
The supposed difference with a higher output voltage will allow you to turn the gains on your amp down further, increasing the S/N ratio of the system.
To me, though, the output impedance is more important that output voltage. The 8000 deck is, I believe, a 55 ohm output, which will DRASTICALLY reduce the amount of noise that can be introduced into your system.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
