what is the range on the DEI XHF plus antenna? I just got two of them and they seem to be pretty good. it also has a SAW filter- what does that do?

A saw filter is a specific type of RF bandpass filter...... it doesn't look like anything special. It won't have Husquavarna painted on it or anything...... maybe 3 more components on the PCB of the antenna.

range will run about 1500 ft consistently.... will be better at building penetration than an HF Plus by far..... but still drop off when going through walls like any other unit would....

this is an old antenna... i would opt for the XR Plus... which should give you better range and stability....

dont get wrapped up in distance ratings.....i've seen "1000 ft range" antennas do twice that and i've also seen "2000 ft range" antennas do half that.....
