Older units the loop determines transmission type. Winter of 2005/06 Compustar changed the units so they are programmed a certain way from the factory that couldn't be changed. Its to prevent a customer from taking his manual transmission unit out of manual mode and putting it in automatic mode causing a potential safety concern. I have a feeling they did it to prevent possible lawsuits.
I had a few units that still had green loops last winter that you couldn't change the transmission type on. I have a feeling they were shipping units that way for a short period during the changover to preprogrammed units. You may have one of those units.
I'm not 100% on all this, I'm just basing this on the 50-75 units my shop used last winter.

That's good know. I am still cutting the loop north of the broader. The MT and AT sticker on the unit like Jeff said, I still have not seen them yet. Supplier In the GTA must have lots of old inventory remaining.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.compustar 2W900FM-AS problem - Page 2 -- posted image.

I have not seen any of these so called MANUAL /AUTO only units here in Canada yet. I'm not sure if we're going to or not, but I haven't seen any ( may only be a US thing ).
