What do you guys think of the DEI 554R

Is it worth the extra money? Is it easy to install?

You could also look into an ultra start 1270tl, easy to install and program.

I agree on the Ultrastart. I am a dealer for those units and they have always been a reliable piece. The 1250/1256/1270 units have about 1000 feet of solid range and are pretty straight forward. I've seen them on ebay for around 60 which is very fair.

thanks for everyones reply.

Now i have MANY MANY to choose from. I guess any one of the ones mentioned would do its job.

Do you guys think the 1270tl is a better buy over the 561R, or are they the same?

Just to throw something else at you, I have installed several Designtechs (now owned by DEI), an UltraStart, and Commandos.  I am partial to the Commando.  Very versatile and programmable, easy to understand instructions, and excellent tech support by phone or www.  Their EZ-2500 is $64.95.  Also figure in your cost, the cost of relays, bypass modules, etc.

You can also check out alarms from a company called Micro. I have been installing their remote start systems for about 4 years now and I have not had any problems. The alarms pricing is fairly reasonable.
