I believe, and hopefully someone who has used them can say for sure, that the metal terminal comes out of the housing so you can crimp it and solder it to the wire. The integral spring keeps pressure against the contacts so that when the two connectors are put together they clamp to each other.
Good Luck!

what about just doing a standard inline fuse back there? like the simple screw together ones? that way all you have to do is unscrew one side and take your set up out? if anything all you would have to do is tape the power side to make sure it didnt touch anything. run one extra fuse for ground and one for power right next to your set up, quick easy and cheap, and its just an extra fuse all it can do is help.

I already bought these, and they are perfect, the only problem I have is that the contacts are pretty thick, and I don' tknow how to secure the wire to them. I'm probably going to stick it in, hammer it down to try and crimp it a bit, and then load it up with solder and heat shrink it I guess. Man, I can't wait to get this done, the car sounds terrible right now.
Going to be about a 3 month process I imagine, I just got the sounddeadner, have to lay all that out, fun times.
