Just wondering a couple things, on the 05 caravan the wires in the ignition harness are like 18 guage and the remote start has like 16 guage. Is it ok to hook these up?
And on the door locks, if i use relays do i need to hook up resistors to?

run your power wires to the battery do not use the lt.blue/red at all can not handlle the pull from the remote start

as for the dor lock yes you do read the info below

So do I understand this corectly, This is a 5 wire Alt 12V Positive door locks so I can hook this up as the diagram shows. Spliting the lock wire and unlock wire for the motor and run it through the relay (30 and 87a). This Should work?
And were do I find DirectFax document 1083?
My email is dereckdaniels@hotmail.com if someone could send it to me thanks so much.

you have a one wire door lock system
Power Lock and Unlock  PURPLE / dk. green  -  BCM, white plug, pin 21
Notes: Lock is negative trigger thru a 5.3K ohm resistor. Unlock is negative trigger thru a 2.0K ohm resistor. MUST use relays.
The BCM (Body Control Module) is in the driver kick panel near the parking brake. It has 5 plugs in it, one 6 pin plug and four 34 pin plugs.
Can also use Directed 456L interface modules.

this is a (-) triggered multiplex lock/unlock system.  You will need to use 1 relay. This never fails me:

86 (-) lock in

85 +12v

87 5.3k ohm resistor to ground

30 cars lock-unlock wire (purple dk.green)

87a (-) unlock wire to 2.9k ohm resistor to remote start unit

cool idea but your unlock wire isnt actually relayed it is straight from the starter unit i would suggest you use two relays and do it properly

its highly unlikely that your remote start is gonna have more than a 10 amp draw since everything in that vehicle is low current......but smack me if im wrong

I've done tons of RS in these vans and always use power from the ignition switch. Nothing is high current if you use negative park lights and it works fine...

Why do you think they usely put two 30 amp fuses on most remote starters. have looked at how skiny them wires are i wouldint want to take any chance

just because your amp has a forty amp fuse in it does that mean your always gonna be drawing 30 or 35 amps....youll be fine using that power lead......i will suggest staying away from the 2 amp circuit powering the new dodge rams key cylinder....you will likely be drawing more than 2 amps at a given point but come on 10 amps to activate low current switches to a pcm?  unlikely....your parking lights are negative and that relay might draw something but nothing to be concerned about.....if your adding relays for lockunlock sliding doors power rear hatch.....then yah maybe your gonna draw more than ten amps if you activate every option while your remote starting with every accesory in the vehicle on........but thats an unlikely situation....besides just use a combo data interface and youll nevr have anything to worry about.......

just my two sense........

though i am surprised that someone agreed with me about this...........mikem2...i figured idget pm'd to never post here again.......
